Bill:GA HR 1106 - Advocates the elimination of food deserts
Summary:Would aim to eliminate food deserts by requesting access to healthy, fresh, and affordable food in at-risk rural and urban areas. The aim would be to improve overall health by combating obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and other health-related problems that can be aided by a healthy diet. Would demand the placement of supermarkets, farmer's markets, fast food restaurants that sell healthy menu choices, and local convenience stores within communities that lack access.
