Summary:Would allow an individual who has pled guilty to or is found guilty under federal or state law of a felony involving possession or use of a controlled substance to be exempt from the prohibition against eligibility for food stamp program benefits, if such person, as determined by the department to meet certain criteria.

Summary:This act modifies provisions relating to public assistance benefits. Subject to appropriations, this act requires the Department of Social Services to establish a pilot program for the purpose of providing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants with access and the ability to afford fresh food when purchasing fresh food at farmers' markets.
