Bill:DC LB 500 - Farmers' Market Nutrition Incentive Fund
Summary:Would establish a Farmers’ Market Nutrition Incentive Fund to increase the value of federal nutrition assistance dollars at farmers’ markets; designate a farmers’ market ambassador to assist farmers’ markets with the permitting process; to require the development of a central registration of farmers’ markets and an advertising campaign to promote farmers’ markets in the District; and allow farmers’ markets to install permanent and temporary signs promoting farmers’ markets.

Summary:Would require the Department of Parks and Recreation, Office of Food and Nutrition Services, to develop a plan to provide healthy meals to low-income children on school days when public schools are closed due to inclement weather.

Summary:Would require the District Department of the Environment to include certain program details in the publication of its draft annual Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program ("LIHEAP") state plan.
